My current story is Patchwork Family. I have come up with four more books in the series. Yes, I’m making it a series of five books. I’m inspired at the moment, over the last five to six days. I have written four chapters. I’m on chapter nineteen. I’m finding this current chapter is one of my best. I’m loving writing this story. I have tried to write this story many times over the last fourteen years. That was when my mother-in-law passed away. She was more of a Mom to a good friend and me.
Her name was Barbara. She died of colon cancer. Watching her die was the worst thing ever. Why do good people die and bad people don’t? I have lost a lot of people to cancer. I lost my adoptive dad to skin cancer, and one of my best friends to breast cancer. I lost two of my aunts to breast cancer on my mother’s side of the family. I had two brain tumours removed that were cancerous. I survived, and my loved ones died. Why? I know this does happen.
These experiences give me story ideas. I am writing this story for Barbara. She was one of my best role models for writing. She would phone me most days when my partner was working. She’d check I’d had lunch and would ask about my writing. She always wanted to know about my writing. It made me smile. She gave me a boost when she asked about my writing. I miss that. I miss her voice.
Inspiration comes from people who support your writing. It’s what does it for me. It also comes from church and the visions I have. Yes, I have visions. I feel God gave me the gift of words. He gave me the gift of words and the gift to write my stories and novels. I have four written novels. None of them is published. I will one day. Not ready for that. I want this story to be my first published. I’m dedicating it to Barbara.
